karen. >> all right guys. as we look at the map we've got some clouds mixing with clear spaces so it will be kind of a clouds and sun mix early. had severe weather in ohio and western pennsylvania last night but it all fell apart as it came east and now it looks like we're basically dry. as we take a look at temperatures still a little bit on the mild side. 69 degrees in philadelphia currently, 64 millville. 68 in allentown and the dewpoints are still running in the mid 60's so a tad humid out there. still feeling kind of muggy as you step outside. in fact as we head out to catch the bus this morning we'll call for a somewhat muggy forecast with partly cloudy skies and temperatures ranging between 67 up to a somewhat mild 70 by 8 o'clock. but as we roll through the day a couple of things happen. first of all we do get very mild. we'll get a high this afternoon of 88 degrees but as those temperatures are climbing the dewpoints are actually going to drop and winds pick up so it will be a windy afternoon but less humid than it was this morning. pollen counts still running high. we'll talk more about that and how the rest of your exclusive accuweather 7-day forecast big

change for tomorrow, karen coming up. >> all right dave let's take a life look at 95 near penn's landing. southbound traffic headed towards the walt whitman bridge. construction block pentagon the two southbound lanes the right lanes are blocked so watch for that on i-95 southbound. however on the vine we've got no extra overnight construction. all lanes are opened and you're looking good this morning on the vine street expressway. on the big picture, speeds mostly in the 50's. don't forget though spruce street will close between 34th and 40th from 6:30 this morning until 8 o'clock today and tomorrow it's penn's moveout day. use walnut or sansom as your alternate. congestion south philadelphia roughly the same time at 7 o'clock this evening so that could cause a problem. in chester county an early morning accident on route 23 ridge road. shut down near porters mill road. stick to pew town road instead matt and tam. >> thank you karen. we're starting with breaking news. another massive earthquake has struck near nepal overnight.

>> it was an estimated magnitude 7.3 which is considered major and struck near the world's tallest mountain. >> "action news" reporter erin o'hearn is live in the satellite center. she's got the latest. good morning. >> reporter: good morning. devastating news coming out of an area that has barely gained its footing since an earthquake hit a couple weeks ago that killed more than 8,000 people. now the u.s. is confirming a magnitude 7.3 earthquake did strike 60 miles east of kathmandu in nepal. the u.s. geological survey said the quake hit in an isolated area just after lunchtime today. so this was right in the middle of the day and in the capitol of kathmandu. it is being reported that the quake sent people rushing outside of their homes into the streets. we don't know the extent of the damage at this point but again, this comes just a couple weeks after an earthquake killed more than 8,000 people and injured

nearly 18,000 people. it also flattened mountain villages and destroyed buildings. again, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake hitting that area in nepal. again, of course, we'll keep you updated on any reports of injuries damage or deaths. i'm erin o'hearn live in the sat center, back to you. >> thanks erin. the nfl suspended super bowl m.v.p. tom brady for the first four games of the up coming season without pay for his role in the deflate-gate scan today. the quarterback's agent says he'll appeal the decision. the league has also fined the new england patriots $1 million and took away two draft picks and has indefinitely suspended the two equipment staffers who reports say carried out the scheme to deflate footballs to be used in the afc title game. "gma" will cover the the suspension. >> a man police say robbed a dunkin' donuts in west

philadelphia is behind bars. the brazen bandit burst into the establishment on 63rd street and girard avenue just before 2:00 a.m. police say the robber smashed a window and made off with the cash register. didn't take police long to track down the suspected thief and the money. fortunately no one was injured. >> lease are out there -- police are looking for rocks who threw rocks at a bus in philadelphia. as the bus approached 47th and aspen streets at least two juveniles ran over from a rec center and started to throw rocks and construction debris. the broken glass hit 20-year-old spill needs student courtney clancy in the face. at 5:00 hear from the victim's mother as police search for the suspects. this is what it looked like when firefighters pulled two women from a little miata sports car that had gotten stuck under a large ups truck yesterday. it happened as the big rig was changing lanes on the

northeast extension in lansdale. the women in the sports car have nonlife-threatening injuries. >> a violent fight in north philadelphia put man and a woman in the hospital. it happened along the 2300 block of north cleveland street last night. police say the man was beating the woman with a dog leash. so she grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the chest and arm. he was rushed to hahnemann hospital. the woman was taken to temple university hospital for a nonlife-threatening cut. police tell us this was a domestic incident. police in darby borough are searching for raheem presley. they say he was the one who opened fire during a mother's day melee. about a dozen people were caught on camera fighting on third street and greenway avenue on sunday. at one point a man pulled out a gun and fired shot. no one was hit. there have been at least four shootings in the last five days in darby borough. when you see severe weather or breaking news e-mail your photos to join the

action at or use #6abc action on social media. >> happening today a chester county dj accused of being a sexual predator is scheduled to be in court today. 28-year-old daniel milowicki is accused of assaulting a 21-year-old woman. the woman answered his ad on craigslist. police found a stash of pornography along with a hume san size cage in his basement. happening today a wisconsin prosecutor will announce whether charges will be filed against a white police officer who fatally shot an unarmed by racial man. 19-year-old tony robinson was shot in madison earlier this year. police say officer matt kenny was responding to reports that robinson assaulted two people and was running in traffic. they say robinson attacked officer kenny. more details have not yet been released. protesters have demanded officer kenny be charged. >> lawyers for accused cop

killer eric frein have withdrawn their request to have his trial moved to a new location for now. frein is charged with murder. the attack killed corporal bryon dixon and injured trooper alex douglass. frein's attorneys wanted the trial moved out of pike county saying the district attorney referred to frein as a murderer in a campaign mailer. even though the request is withdrawn the defense plans to raise the issue again later as part of a larger push to move the trial. >> philadelphia police need your help finding two men who used head lamps and a baby stroller to steal thousands of dollars in tools. this is surveillance video from the 400 block of acker street in east oak lane. police say the suspects tried to get into cars for several minutes and then turned their attention to a work truck. after loading the strollers up with $5,000 worth of tools the men continued down the block. officers are also looking for a man accused of stealing from a kensington liquor store by shoving a bottle of

bubblely down his pants inside the wine and spirits on the 100 block of west girard avenue. he places a bottle in the front of his pants and runs out the front door. if you recognize the thief call east detectives. >> the web site new jersey says it has the governor traditionally has free use of boxes for giants and jets games but food and beverages cost extra. the republican state committee perhaps fearing a scandal reimbursed the treasury. >> it is now 4:39. coming up on "action news" more stories you did not see last night. violence erupts near a college campus in california and that same campus was rocked by a deadly rampage nearly a year ago. we'll give you the details.

>> 4:43. it's tuesday and starting off humid again. >> yes, a little bit muggy out there this morning but things get better in way later this afternoon. storm tracker six live double scan -- i know it is right. there's a little sprinkle or shower up by the poconos. looks like we're finished with that though. the the front out to the west has fallen app parter with the precipitation as it heads east. as we head out we have partly cloudy skies and in some cases you'll see a bit of sunshine early this morning and still little bit on the mild side. 69 degrees currently in philadelphia. your dewpoint is still up there in the mid 60's. anything over 60 indicates humid air so it's starting out a bit muggy today and i could see it staying that way through about lunchtime or so. winds out of the southwest at 3 miles per hour. that's another thing that's going to change as the day goes on. we'll get those winds can kicking up. satellite shows you how we had

severe weather out to the north and west of us last night. watch how that front falls apart as it moves away from its support farther to the west and now we're looking at a mix of clear skies and some clouds but that precipitation out of the picture pretty much. 70 degrees by 8 o'clock. it is going to be a warm one today. by 11 o'clock 82, probably still feeling kind of muggy but as we head into the afternoon despite the fact that the temperatures rise, humidity will start to go down as the winds pick up and we start to mix some drier air in from above so 87 degrees by 2 o'clock with the humidity beginning to dip. 88 degrees is your high at 3 o'clock today. it will be warm and cool water probably a good idea even though the humidity is dropping off. and by 5 o'clock 86 degrees, windy, breezy this afternoon and feeling more comfortable. high temperatures will be warm up to the north as well. allentown getting up to 86 this afternoon. 87 in reading. 87 in trenton. less humid in the afternoon for all and down the shore cooler but still pretty warm. 78-degree reading on the boardwalk in atlantic city this afternoon.

it's going to be a really, really nice day down the shore if that's where you happen to be. here are those dewpoints. still in the mid 60's right now and by noon, probably dropping off a little bit but a lot of us still in the mid 60's. however we get through the afternoon and by dinnertime and really before then you see how a lot of us are dropping down into the 50's. now the closer you go to the shore it might feel a little bit sticky even in the evening hours but for most of the inland areas we're looking at that improvement. for the phillies tonight a nice night for baseball at citizens bank park. a little breezy, 82 degrees for the first pitch and 72 in the ninth inning. phillies lining it up against the bucs again. tomorrow with that frontal boundary well off the coast and the winds shifting a bit out of the northwest we're going to introduce a breezy cooler air mass into the region. winds running 15 to 25 miles per hour. we'll start out in the shifts in the morning and only get to a high of 70 tomorrow afternoon. your seven-day from accuweather then today 88 degrees warm but we'll see that dropping humidity during

the afternoon. windy and cooler tomorrow, 70. thursday a really nice day sunny and nice a high of 74 and we're finishing the work week on a good note as well with a high of 76 degrees and partly sunny skies. late friday night there could be a little shower and then saturday cloudy, 78 degrees is the high and there is the chance of some showers at least at times on saturday. sunday though we're transitioning back to a mix of clouds and sun, a nice high of 80. day baseball and the union at home later on in the day. and both of those contests look to be pretty good. there's just a spotty shower around on sunday but mainly drive. monday clouds giving way to sun and a high of 83. so pretty nice forecast overall. >> we agree. >> okay. >> thank you david. developing this morning police are investigating an attack near the university of california santa barbara. two people were shot and a third was assaulted last night. the men in their early 20's were taken to a hospital with moderate injuries. police say one of the injured is a suspect. the college campus was put on lockdown for a few hours

overnight as police searched for a second suspect. he is still on the loose this morning. the attack took place in the same neighborhood as a deadly rampage nearly one year ago. and this is new. a brave little boy made a bold move during a carjacking in california. the carjacker started driving away with a stolen honda civic in stockton while four-year-old peyton hahn way able to jump out as the car speeded away. peyton suffered some scratches. his mother says the emotional scars will take longer to heel. >> time to take a look at your first look at business. the insurance institute for high bay safety took a look at suv's only the nissan murano and jeep wrangler got the highest marks when it comes to front end crashes. the ford flex got the second best ratings. the dodge durango jeep cherokee and hyundai santa fe

received moderate. google reports its its self driving cars have been in 11 minor traffic accidents since the company began to test out the tech six years ago but they say the self driving cause did not cause any of those accidents. not me, it's you. turning to wall street, stocks closed lower on monday. right now futures do seem to be pointing to a lower open. olive garden has been having trouble financially. they're trying to get customers back using those famous bread sticks. the restaurant chain says it will use those garlic bread sticks to make chicken arm and meat ball sandwiches starting june 1st. >> a lot of garlic. >> a lot of calories. >> more stories you didn't see last night a north jersey couple is accused of harassing their son's basketball coach to the point of criminality. >> three people are accused of burglarizing a new york restaurant but how they were caught is raising eyebrows. leave the macaroni salad alone.

westbound traffic headed towards city avenue but just a couple cars out there so no problems between south philadelphia and king of prussia this morning. we had an accident here in east vincent chester county which is cleared so ridge road has reopened. construction here on the township westbound past valley forge blocks the left lane. crews are still out there. they're blocking the left lane and center lane eastbound on the turnpike near fort washington and blocking eastbound. the right lane near bensalem. lots of crews out there. they're all working on the turnpike doing pretty well but still seeing speeds mostly in the 50's so it's not really impacting traffic too much as you head out. no major issues this morning tam. >> okay, thank you karen. new this morning police in western new york used a trail of macaroni salad to nab a group of burglars. investigators say the men broke into a burger joint early sunday morning they stole a cash register, security cameras and 10 pounds of macaroni salad. police say they each took turns eating the salad as they escaped down a nearby trail.

focus, guys focus. officers followed the trail and arrested the three men. a couple from north jersey is accused of stalking a high school boys basketball coach who benched their son. david and nancy kush interpleaded not guilty to stalking charges last week. according to a leaked criminal complaint they sent several anonymous e-mails to staff members and the head basketball coach at the high school. it reportedly went on for two years while they were upset about their son's playing time. "good morning america" will have more on this story coming up at 7:a.m. >> closing arguments held tomorrow in the penalty phase of the boston marathon bombing trial. the judge dismissed the jury yesterday after both the defense and prosecution rested their cases. the panel already found dzhokhar tsarnaev guilty of all 30 charges against him. now it must decide whether tsarnaev should spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2013 attack or be sentenced to death.
